Hi,

I have a 2013 Fiat Bravo, 1.6 diesel multijet engine.

Randomly the radio will flicker on and off, then the warning lights come on the dash, then the power can cut and wheel tighten. Or when it happens as I put the car in reverse the power cuts briefly.


I have changed the battery and it does not seem to have fixed this random issue. It happens without warning and if anyone has any suggestions its greatly appreciated. The car is serviced regularly and spotless. I have purchased second hand and it only showed up about 6 months into ownership.


A mechanic said potential live wire somewhere.. as after he changed the battery and it didn't fix it. But said finding that is like a needle in a hay stack.

Run an additional cable from battery negative to engine and chassis

The original cables can fail internally


No cable means no circuit..
So things shutting down

So just to clarify run a second negative cable onto the chassis. So two all together.
