Hi since going from an iPhone 5 ( no issues) later to 7 and 8 does anyone else experience weird blue&me behaviour?
Dropping out, not connecting, at times while talking suddenly loud buzzing sounds when on Bluetooth?
I have done the update but still having problems.

I have had the same problem - the noise was so bad I had to stop and disconnect the battery.

I have not found a resolution but would love to know if someone else has as I now do not use my phone in the car.

I have the same issue. I tried to update the Blue&me but i didnt find a newer versión for my car (2008).

I had the same problem yesterday with iPhone 7. Disconnecting the battery was the only way to make it stop. It could have caused a crash, it was so loud and distracting.

I have had the same issue for a couple of years now, since the upgrade to iOS11. I have a 2009 GP with Blue&Me (updated to 5.6). The problem followed me from a 6S to an XS. So frustrating - I was here looking for solutions or ideas to fix it :(

Blue&me and newer iPhone issues

Since I posted this thread I’ve experimented with several methods.
One that seems to help is if you receive a call and the ring tone comes through the car’s speakers, it will work fine. If it doesn’t ring through the cars speakers and only via the phone when you answer the blue&me will distort and make loud irritating noises.
Also turn of your wi-fi and avoid using Siri (on Apple) to make calls instead use the blue & me windows option on steering wheel to make a call or better still - if you are stationary- use the contacts on phone.
Hope this helps.

Re: Blue&me and newer iPhone issues

When I got a new phone about two years ago, connecting it to my 2015 Fabia gave strange results. I could take and make calls, but had no access to the phonebook or call logs. (No idea about music as I do not use that function, only calls and texts.)

Found that newer phones use the latest Bluetooth version, 1.4, which is different to the previous 1.3, and not backwards compatible. Pure genius.

On Android, we can delve into the system and tell the phone to use 1.3, which is still in the operating system. This for me restored the full functionality that I require.

My guess is this will affect performance generally. If reverting to 1.3 is possible with iphone, it might bring a fix. Although functions other than phone and text might not work.
