Hiya, this is my first post so be nice [emoji23]

I recently bought my second bravo and I’m having some issues with it.

I seem to have a lot less power in the later gears, from 3rd onwards and I have no idea why. I’ve had a remap done and it’s quicker in the lower gears but still the same story in the higher gears.

If anybody could shed some light on why this might be happening I’d be so happy.

Also from time to time my clutch is very weird, when I first got the car the pedal was extremely heavy but now it’s about normal but now it feels like I loose pressure and it’ll grind into every gear (only when coming down the box) I have to pump the pedal to get it going again and this sometimes doesn’t work. I’ve been told several things it could be but I was wondering if there was a common fault?

How many miles total has car covered?
Welcome

I had a punto HGT with the same engine. The rear crankshaft oil seal is a weak point and can leak into the clutch.

Mine did and contaminated the clutch, causing a combination of slipping and sticking.

At the time it had also done a similar mileage to your car.

This caused the clutch to drag and not disengage properly causing grinding in gears.

From what you describe with having to pump the clutch it could be your clutch slave cylinder is leaking some oil/hydraulic fluid, contaminating the clutch and meaning you have to pump it to keep pressure up.

Check your levels in the brake fluid reservoir as it is usually shared with the clutch on fiats.
