So due to Covid-19 and not much driving my cars battery went flat. Tried opening the bonnet but the cable seems to be stuck and not releasing bonnet at all.

How can I go about getting the bonnet open? Can I access the latch or cable inside the engine bay without doing any damage?

have you tried getting some one to try lifting the bonnet whilst you pull on the lever? some times works

Yeah, but it was my wife and she is tiny, so could not put much muscle into it.

Tried that as well. Going to try access the cable from underneath the car some how.

Can't see any way of getting to the mechanism itself

what year is the car?

It is a 2006. Was quite easy.
Managed to trace the cable to just above the left front wheel. Can stick your arm into the engine bay, yank on the cable and pull it open.
