Hi all.

My 2009 T-Jet Dualogic had done about 95k miles when a bearing noise started. Same in all gears and linked to road speed. I did think it may be driveshaft bearing, but took it to a local gearbox specialist that had done a good job (on a VW) for me before. They checked and found the driveshaft bearing OK so it had to be gearbox/final drive. The car's not worth much but has always been super-reliable and we really like it so decide to get it fixed.

Fast forward a few weeks. They had fully rebuilt the gearbox and I'm £1500 poorer. We got the car back and it seemed great. There had been a bit of clutch judder that was gone (new clutch and flywheel as part of the repair) and the whine from the final drive that the car had from new was also gone.

Unfortunately it seems to have acquired a small problem when shifting up. Driving it gently is fine, shifting seems perfect though may be a bit slow. But exit a roundabout (for example) and accelerate and just as it shifts up the engine is hesitant and a bit jerky for a second, then suddenly the problem will clear. I'm sure it's not clutch slip or not engaging for any reason. It happens in most gears and can misbehave jerking a bit when changing down too.

It's gone back to them today and whilst they acknowledge there's a problem they are claiming it's spark plugs or fuel filter though there was no signs of any of this when we dropped it off and the spark plugs are just a year old.

I'm pretty convinced there's something wrong with the alignment of the Dualogic or maybe the bleeding of the clutch but they seem reluctant to do that. In fact I'm wondering if they did realign it after the repair.

Is there anyone here who has any experience of Dualogic alignment who would know if that can affect the engine in this way?

Apologies for long post,

Stuart

Yeah it's the 1400 T-Jet with 6 speed Dualogic.

Pretty sure the box is a GM as they told me some clutch parts were labelled Vauxhall.

I'm wondering now if they disturbed anything on the engine when they took the box out.
