Hi folks
Daughters 1.6mj 120. Change engine oil message came up, so I did. But message and the wee flashing oil can still showing on dash. Had a look on here and on web - does this need reset by garage or dealer and if it's not the dpf will be damaged?
Cheers

Hi,
Ideally you should use Multiecuscan www.multiecuscan.net with a modified ELM327 interface and winodws laptop

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Fiat-Alfa-ELM-OBD2-Green-Red-Yellow-cables-adapters-Diagnostics-Multiecuscan/282526378637
to do the reset. MES will also let you check for other faults and make adjustments.
A dealer won't do the reset unless they also change the oil. There is a pedal pushing reset but it's not preferred and may not work.
You can try this at your own risk

1-turn on the ignition key,
2-press the gas pedal and hold it,
3-press the brake pedal 7 times without releasing the gas pedal,
4-keep pressing the gas pedal for 60sec.
5-Release the gas pedal and turn of the ignition key,
6- Wait for 60sec.
Then turn on the ignition key and start the engine. Check if the service/oil change light turned off.

If not reset you will eventually go into limp mode and might amage the DPF.
