Hey,. My car seems to have developed a little problem. Don't know if it's an easy fix or not but hoping someone will or can help.
When changing gears the shifter doesn't return to neutral when taking out of gear. So I've to manually push or pull to centre before choosing a new gear. It goes into hear no problems at all. Just the re centering

Mines also the same, not sure how to fix so will follow and hope for an answer

There tend to be centreing springs..

But it could also be sticky gear change cables :(

Try and lube the cables.. see how it is for a few days

Charlie

Also had very dry nylon bush at base of lever. A squirt of silicon spray would sort that in the short term.

Hi, where would the springs be located roughly? Also the cables?

Thanks

Springs generally connect the base of the gear lever to the body and generally can be seen from underneath. Each spring pulls the lever upright and thus in the central position in neutral. Get the gaiter out of the way and make sure its lubricated at the ball joint on the lever and check for broken bits in that area too.

Do I need to remove anything from underneath the car to be able to see them?
