I would like to pick some technically minded minds on a gearbox query. I have a 2012 bravo multiair with a six speed gearbox. For the longest time i have been assuming this to be GMs dreaded "cheese box" and have been planning a gearbox oil change for a while in a vain attempt to try at least to prolong the inevitable rebuild for as long as possible. So last weekend I bought the oil, did a bit of research as to where the filler point was and stone me the filling point on my box is in a different place  in fact the whole box looks different with the filling point on top of the diff casing.

Here's a photo of an M32 box taken from the Internet. The filling point can be see as an allen bolt by the gearbox mount.

And this is the closest box I can find that looks like mine taken from a 500x

Is this in essence an M32 with a different casing?

The photos don't seem to load up for me.

I've had a look at the handbook today and although it stops short of telling me exactly what gearbox I have it does tell me that my box is uses different oil to the t-jet versions - tutela gearforce for the multiair and matryx for the t-jet which uses the M32. Also the oil quantity is different with the t-jet taking 1.87 litres and the multiair using 1.99 litres. So based on that I'm pretty sure mine isn't the infamous M32 "bearing buster" - which is great news potentially (y) I say "potentially" as I know nothing about this gearbox so not sure if I should replace the oil as per the manuals stated quantity or put a bit extra in like they say you should with the M32

To me, from the one picture of your gearbox it looks to be the M32.
You might be lucky and have the newer design end case that doesn't have the level plug, and has additional oil galleries and i think bigger bearings... but looks to be an M32.

Have a look at this site:

He hasn't shared a picture of his box, both pictures were sourced from the internet

You havd the C530 gearbox, as your Bravo is after the face lift. After 2010, there was the change. And the C530's gear ratios must be longer.
