Afternoon,

Here in the UK, as you may be aware, we're currently experiencing some high ambient air temperatures.

I've noticed, what with caning the A/C and no doubt the reduced effect of the intercooler, a not insignificant drop in power; the car feels slower. (1.4TJet 150). I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced this, or if I need to do some investigating. .

it's normal.. and makes perfect sense..especially while city driing, then wanting to push it for a quick run... the whole engine bay is heat soaked...probably afr's got out a bit.. etc

Yes, that was my hypothesis. Down side of owning a Turbocharged car I guess!

Well.. on the up side... with a hot intake/less power .. the car will go through less fuel.

On the other side.. the AC is pumping all the time.

That's a good theory.

But, as you say the A/C is thrashing... And holding on to the lower gears longer in start stop traffic, and the fact that the unleaded at the pumps is less dense, i'm certainly not seeing a fuel saving.

Cracked 46 MPG the other day though (indicated), but that was on a run, not day to day driving.
