Hello everyone.

Just piked up a Bravo 2008 1.9 Mjet today. After dealing with the fact that it had no keys whatsoever nor the 5 digit code to bypass the immo I have eventually managed to start the car.

Issues:

1. Needs a new Battery, easy enough to sort. Any suggestions as the car needs alot of electric power given the assisted steering ?

2. It rattles bad, gets worse when revd up. Suggestions more than welcomed.

3. Steering is stiff. An I mean stiff. After 23 miles fighting with it i feel like Hulk.

There is another issue but will be a different post as it needs pictures.

Change the battery, get the highest power one that you can afford and will fit.

This might cure your steering issue, it might not. If not, something more technical is broken; the steering on these cars is overassisted and pretty much weightless.


The rattle could be anything, I'll take a stab in the dark and say the DMF is shagged though; pretty common with common rail diesels.

It looks like your steering is busted. Common problem when people have City mode ON all the time.

Change battery, Exide is very good for example.
Then connect car to diagnostic, if something is wrong with steering, it will show.
Rattle-on first thought, DMF maybe?
