Hi,

I have been thinking for a while about uprating the front brakes on my fiat bravo 1.9 M-jet (120hp) and wondering a few things. I was hoping people here could help.

The 'big brake' kits are way to expensive for me, so are there any other ways to do this? I was thinking if any other fiat or other compatible cars have bigger rotors or twin pot brake calipers.

Another way I was thinking is if you change the caliper carrier you could in essence put another caliper on from another car. And then (hopefully) find a rotor that would fit the 4x98 size hub.

Would love to hear thoughts.

alfa romeo mito qv Is a 305mm Brake Disc and bigger brake caliber (bravo 284mm) and 58.1 centre hub

The Bravo has at least 3 different caliper/ brake pad combinations.
I have upgraded to the biggest ones (the pad are 152mm long) there are some others: ~120mm, ~135mm.

Even with these i feel a bit of brake imbalance (front's to powerful). I wouldn't go bigger.

The ones I got were off a Stilo 2.4 (same on the stilo 1.9 140 and 150hp).
I also got the carrier and the discs. The discs are much thicker - more heat capacity. ..they are also better vented.

Thank you so much for the advice. Can you, aurick86, just confirm the year of that stilo and will those fit on 16 inch rims (if you know) thanks.

16" will be fine... i have 150hp stilo and it has the biggest brakes (same as 2.4)

I paid £20 for a complete calliper including carrier.

Mine is november 2006 but replacement carrier came from 2004 1.9 jtd.

Check my thread in stilo section... there is pics of my brake overhaul that may help... now have greenstuff pads and brembo discs
