Hi Guys

been through the forum but still cant get cruise control working?

when i switch it on it says cruise control on but it wont engage when i use the stalk

i have checked both clutch and brake switched with my solus and they are working, checked all functions on the stalk which is working and my cruise control isnt showing any faults in the ecu?

anyone have any ideas???

Ok......still having no luck with this

Really could do with some advise.....both clutch and brake pedal switches are working, green cruise control light is on and cruise control on message appears but it still wont work?

I have been back into it and shows no errors but i have noticed on my solus it says selected gear? does a 2009 bravo dynamic have a gear selector switch or does the ecu work it out?

Any ideas greatly appreciated as im stumped :bang:

Hi,
Does the Solus tell you the stalk switch status? If so is the up/down switch working OK?
I don't think the Bravo has a selected gear indication, if it's the same as the Croma it uses roadspeed and engine RPM to work it out.

Thanks for the reply Robert

Yes i have tested the functions of the stalk on the solus and they are all working
At least you have ruled out the gear selection switch

I had the same problem, everything appeared ok but would not engage. Bought new brake light switch from Euro car parts, fitted it, works a treat ?. (they've a sale on at mo 56% of) its worth changing switch at under a tenner

Both functions on the brake light switch and the clutch switch test fine so i think ive ruled them out :(

Same here, but for less than a tenner, I changed it and hey presto, everything back to normal.
Ten minutes to change as well , no brainer for me

Ill probably end up replacing them in the end as i cant see any other reason it doesnt work

The switches are self adjusting when you fit them. Exercising that can bring them back to life for a while. The actuating plunger has a ratchet action. You reset it by pressing the pedal down, pull the plunger out, you will hear it click, then let the pedal up slowly and you will hear the plunger click back into position. Apart from access, it a quick check.

Thanks guys...... I have tried adjusting both the brake and clutch switches before as my clutch switch was saying it was pressed when it wasnt.

I will check them again tomorrow and if that doesnt work ill replace to rule them out completely (y)

ok guys really stumped now......replaced clutch and brake switches but still the same :(

readings say it should work but just isnt happening....any other ideas?

I take it that it did work before, has anything else happened between it working and not working?

Additionally, does the green light stay on when you try to engage it or does it go out? If it goes out the ABS has detected a fault.

Yes the green light stays on the dash until i turn cruise off. I dont have any fault codes stored either
