Evening all,

Does the Bravo 1.4 TJet 150 have a thermostat housing, or is it just the thermostat (attached to the engine block above the gearbox).

My cars just got back from a service, and apparently that part is leaking, and needs replacing. However, Fiat say the park is on back order with no due date given, so the garage can't get hold of one.

I can't even find a trace of a housing online; just the thermostats (which look like the part in question).

Any guidance or input appreciated.

I can't access that; I assume I have to donate?

Doesn't matter anyway, found a discount code online :)

So after a new thermostat, new banjo pipe and God knows what else, there is still something leaking in that area. Is it possible a defective hose could cause the leak?

It's the hose, re seat it on the thermostat and get a better jubilee clip.

It has done it on both my previous alfa mito which has the same engine as our bravo 150 Tjet too.

It looks they can move slightly or come loose over time, maybe with hard acceleration.

I would say a new hose would help though.

I did the same as you and replaced the thermostat on the bravo but when I was replacing it, I could see the hose hadnt been seated correctly on the raised lip of the thermostat for a while due to the residue from the seep.

On my alfa, I just replaced the clip and never had a problem with either again. But I did use much stronger jubilee clips.

and the hose deforms with heat and pressure from the clamp in time, if you remove it and it's not 100% in the same location it's more likely to leak.

Yeah, I suspected as much. Should have replaced the hose when the thermostat was done; hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Anyone know the part number for the hose? I'm at work so can't look at elearn

You can probably cut 2-3 cm of the end of the hose and reuse it.
Just get a wide, good quality hose clamp of the right zise.
