I've changed both and you definitely don't need to remove the climate control panel. Just remove the lower most forward centre console panels. The air bag ecu is then accessible

Awsome just done that.. how do I remove it. I can only see 1 bolt hat I can get to?

While your here how do I do heater matrix as my heating is all up the kiber

There will be three bolts, 2 on one side and 1 on the other. Why you changing the matrix anyway?

The heaters on my bravo do not work.
No heat on windscreen vents and dash vents one is warmish and one is cold?
Any ideas.
A mechanic friend off mine even shaped a whole unit out from another bravo and put it in mine (dash out the lot ) but it's still the same....
So now I'm thinking matrix??

Won't be the matrix, it will be the climate control flap motors snapping the drive cogs. I've done dozens of them for issues like no hot or cold on one side, no direction control, not blowing at all from one side or both. They are a bit of a **** to do and unless your really patient I wouldn't tackle them yourself. If you could get it to me I'm sure I could sort it out. I'm in Southampton by the way

Oh nice one mate..
How long would they take to do ?

About 2 hours ish, the only one I can't fix in place without taking the dash out is the re-serc one so all I do with them unless someone wants to pay for a dash out is just secure to the fresh air in position

burrowsdeano are there any other aftermarket drive cogs? some that don't break?
Still there is nobody making them out of some more resistant plastic of some metal?

Not that I am aware of, if I get enough demand I may look into getting metal ones made but not sure what costs would be involved. A way to prolong the life of them is to not go to max open or closed because the reason they snap is when they reach their stop. The way the system learns the positions is for the motor to hit the stop and then the amps rocket up, telling the ecu that's its stop so when you go from max cold to max hot it's causing a shearing motion

regular climate resting might help relearn the new values as the potentiometer values change.

PM. Me mate with a price etc.
Would you need to remove the plastic side panel by passenger footwell or go through where the sterio is?
Cheers

I remove the very front plastic side panel and the glovebox, cost wise you'd be looking at £150 inc parts labor and vat. Like I said tho the only one I can't do In place is the re-circulation motor but that's fine fixed on fresh air in. Makes a huge difference when it's all done

Ok cool..
All the plastics and glove box are already off the car as I have removed them already to get the airbag ecu out to get cleared
