Hi Folks

I still have my 1.9 (150) Bravo Sport, its still going strong (ish) despite all the money I'm throwing at it….anyway...

Recently I have noticed this horrible clutch sound when shifting.
video of sound - [ame="https://youtu.be/lub0JuUFNlA"]https://youtu.be/lub0JuUFNlA[/ame]

I'll be driving and shifting up in gear and this noise will happen. I've recorded it as its quite distinctive.
It only happens when I'm shifting up in gear and not down and only usually between 1-3 gears only when the engine is warm!

I had the AA out for an unrelated incident and although the sound didn't happen whilst the mechanic was driving he stated my clutch was extremely low. He did the usual put it in high gear and try stall it scenario and pretty much burnt my clutch out and stated it probably needs replacing. Well it does now anyway.

However what is this rattle sound? Is it likely that the DMF will need replacing too?

I've been quoted £345 for a Valeo clutch only replacement or £640 for a Clutch and DMF at a local clutch specialist.

Or £450 or £750 for LUK parts, depending on what I have fitted…Im actually not sure myself.

Has any one had a similar situation?

Thanks guys

Ok so I'm pretty certain clutch is going, just driving home today and went to boot it to test and had a lot of slip.

Can anyone confirm if it's a Valeo or LUK clutch kit required? Are they actually different? Also is that a decent price including 2 year warranty from a large clutch specialist?? I'm thinking it is...
