Hi all

According to I can see while changing the oil in my car (Bravo 1.6 mjet) the oil plug is located at right side close to the front right wheel ( no at bottom as usual).
Does someone know whether is possible to change the oil removing the wheels arch?. I've read, someone has changed the filter removing the plastics in the wheels arches but I don't know whether is possible changing the oil too.
I'm talking just about 1.6 mjet

Regards
Alex

According to my understanding the gearbox is located at left side (looking at the car from back). I'm talking about the right side. In 1.6 mjet I think the oil plug is not at the bottom. have you a 1.6 mjet?. Cheers

Maybe I'm wrong but I dont remember have seen a plug at the bottom of the oil sump in my car. Cheers

At the risk of sound too obvious, your sump will be black & the sump plug will be at the lowest part. If for any reason you are looking at the gearbox it will be silver ;)

Sure. It's at lowest part but in the right side of the sump.
I dont know why there is no info about 1.6 mjet on internet.

I've changed the oil and filter in my mothers MiTo 1.6 JTDm (same engine) and I think the sump plug it in the sump pointing towards the drivers wheel or the back of the car. The filter is behind the drivers wheel arch plastic at th back of the engine pointing up. Never changed the oil on the flat of my back in that cat, bacause we have use of a ramp. The filter can be a bit tricky to get to, but not impossible. Think it takes ~5 lts of 5W-30 oil. Hope that helps :) ?

Thank you so much Aido. It's very useful information.

Is this what the oil filter should look like? (red frame)
