Had my Bravo two days . had to get the tracking done today . then later im getting a hill holder fault but noticed this has knocked the ASR off and ESP . not best pleased have been on to dealership as i have a three month warranty . is there a easy fix or will it need to go in .

Thanks in Advance.

Could be steering angle sensor needs resetting :
Do this:
1 start engine
2 turn steering wheels all the way to the right.
3 wait 1 second
4 turn steering wheels all the way to the left
5 wait one second
6 bring steering wheel (and wheels) to the center.

Now the steering angle should be initialized...

Most likely its sensor, its located near clutch pedal. I have same problem, my mechanic said its not expensive, around 20e, i dont know was he talking about new one or used

all fixed now was a sensor that was out when they did the tracking . had to swap the wheels around as it was pulling left a lot . much better to drive now thank god

It's the brake light switch I have the same problem with mine

Basically if there is enough play in the brake pedal it doesn't connect properly with the brake light switch therefore on go the brake lights, after a period of time with the pedal not connecting with the brake light switch it puts a fault on the dash saying ESP unavailable/hill holder unavailable.

I've fixed a piece of plastic (very primitive lol) to the top of the brake pedal to take up the slack problem solved :):)

Hope this helps :)

Here is an other way (a better way):
-remove switch and with pliers pull the pin out a few clicks ( it's self adjusting)
-then file/cut away about half a click (1-2 mm) from the top of the pin.

At this point install the switch back ( while somebody is pressing the brake pedal.
When the pedal is released the switch should self adjust and because you cut away about 1-2 mm, it should be much closer to the pedal.
I suggest filing away the pin and regularly check the interface fit with the pedal.

I have a white switch on top of the brake pedal. But that is connecting on the pedal but my hill holder indicator is still always on and the esp flashes up every now and then when motorway driving. Any other ideas? please

I was having the same problem with my bravo. F35 seems to be my root cause. Although fuse wasn't blown, it has burnt marks on it. Suspect fuse has contact issue when heated up. No warnings for the past few days since my F35 replacement.

Hello,
there is a Guide how to replace the the brake sensor?

i had the same problem, ASR/Hill Holder off, that make me angry lol.

becose i didnt see the brake switch.

regards and great weekend

Happened to me years ago. Dealer service told me it's the sensor in the gas pedal. Billed me arm and leg to replace it.

So u suggest go to the dealer to recognize the problem?

not just to replace the brake sensor?

Did you remove the battery leads?

What were you doing when you got the error?

Hi :)

No, the truth is i didnt try to disconnect the battery leads.

so this what happen,
sometimes when i start the car, everything ok and no light show up.

after a small run for my next start, it shows : red wheel. and the esp, and the asr go off.

when i turn the wheel little bit the red wheel light goes off, and still only the esp.
and its write me Hill holder off/ESP off.

I was asking, because you will get the error if the battery is disconnected. the ecu needs to relearn the steering wheel position. center the wheel, turn all the way to the right, keep there 1-2 seconds, turn all the way to the left keep there 1-2 seconds.. return back to center.

It can also be the brake pedal switch it's on top of the brake pedal, can easily be removed by first removing the electrical connector then twisting the switch quarter turn.
Then grab the self adjusting tip with pliers and pull it out, reinstall (while somebody is pressing the brake so the tip remains extended) and push/release brake a few times to allow it to readjust.

If it is the brake switch the rear brake lights should be ON all the time(with engine running)

If it's not any of the easy ones there are a lot of other possible causes but will require actual diagnoses, reading the ecu faults, measuring voltages, resistance etc.
