I recently had an issue with my Bravo. The engine mount on the front of the motor gave in causing the one side of my motor to drop. I had it repaired but now the car seems to be misfiring. its idleing at 800rpm constantly and there is a really bad shudder on the motor and car now Problem is all of the shops I have called in South Africa don't have the "special" tools for the Bravo to check what could be wrong. can anyone give me a guide line of what might have happened and a possible solution for fixing it. Thanks guys

As far as I know, if you have a misfire you should get a "check engine" light and misfire should be reported when car connected to OBD scan tool.

I do have a check engine light on.... at some points when the car isn't moving it flashes but as soon as I pull away it stops flashing and stays on

Where are you located in SA mate? Arnold Chatz would probably be the best place to go but even then they're not always the best. I know there's a guy in Joburg that knows the Alfas and Fiats well and could help diagnose the problem. I'll try get his number from my Fiat and Alfa mates

The best thing to do then is to do the OBD scan and see what is the fault. If you have a misfire, you will see which cylinder has the problem. And then you will have some fun diagnosing the root cause (coil, spark plug, wiring, injector, ...).

If you feel you are up to it you can get a scanner and scan code yourself. See this video

These guys claim to have a compatible reader http://www.obd2world.eu/ but I havent tried it

I'm in Benoni Guateng. If you can get that number that would be a great help. Looking for a place thats not going to cost an arm and a leg but I guess I'm driving a rare car in Gauteng to its not going to be cheap anywhere.... and with regards to the OBD scan I wouldn't know where to start with it so id rather leave that to someone who knows what they doing. but now that you mention the spark plugs and injectors.... do you think that with the motor dropping it could have caused that. or possibly when they lifted it again they could have damage either the injector railing or pulled a boggy cord??

The best path in my opinion is to first scan the fault code and only then decide how to move forward. if the code is e.g. "misfire cylinder no 3" then you start finding the root cause for that. if its something else then you try and find the cause for that problem

1st reason for missfire are the spark plugs, 2nd reason are the coil plugs. i recently have missfire on cylinder 1 , i swap the coil plugs from 1cyl to 2cyl and 2cyl to 1cyl and go for short ride and missfire was moved at Cylinder 2 , so i buy 4 new coil plugs and everything perfect

Ok so i got my car on a OBD scan and i saw that the missfire was all over. It jumped from each cylinder..... the one error that stood out what the cam assembly error... can anyone tell me what that would mean for me? Also a recent problem has come up.... my ASR. ESP and hillholder became unavailable. I was driving and as i applied brakes i got those notifications on my dash. What could caus3 this?
