Hi guys. My first post but I'm hoping somebody can help..

So I just bought myself a 1.9 fiat bravo multijet 150 with climate control and the USB port and I'm happy with it but I have a handful of problems and questions

First of all. My front windscreen wipers only work if I use the washers. If I just flick the switch on the stalk itself there is absolutely nothing on all 3 speeds.

Second of all I've got this really annoying alarm type of sound coming from what sounds like the glovebox but I'm fairly sure it's coming from the climate control.

My cigarette light doesn't work (I'm sure that just needs a replacement which is easy enough but thought I would note it just In case there's a common problem with bravos that's caused this that I don't know about)

And that's about it for the actual problems for now..

Onto questions about my stereo..

iv just bought a pioneer app radio 4 and wired it all in and it works fine.. I'm going to have to order my steering wheel control stalk adaptor and reverse camera and there not problems. I was just wondering if there is some kind of way that I can preserve the use of my cars built in USB port with the head unit.

If I come up with any fixes in the meantime il be sure to update..

i can't help with the issues but i brought the app radio 4 last week or so.

impressive but its a shame you need the lightening av digital thing to make use off the apps!

Have you looked inside the cigarette lighter socket to see if its clogged up?

wiper stalk could be knackered as a guess!

Tell me about it. I was initially hoping everything would work using the bluetooth but i guess you cant have it all.

and thats what I'm thinking but i dont want to go ahead and buy a new one if thats not the problem because the rear wiper works fine and since its on the same stalk I'm hoping its not that and something thats a bit less hassle

And yeah the cigarette lighter has been taken out before.. I can tell because it doesnt actually stay in its place. the whole unit just bulls right out of the dash..

another 2 problems i discovered are my fog lights only work when iv got the car on full beam and my brother has the same car but a 1.4 t jet active and when he puts it in reverse his mirrors tilt down for visibility and mine dont :bang::bang::bang:

Hey man, I also just go my Pioneer Head Unit installed and it seems like you cant use the current USB port that came with blue & me. It's sad but however should be rather easy to replace with the USB extender you also probably got with your Head Unit. Just need to remove the trim by the gear knob and then that tray there and just pull out the current port and replace it with the new one. (y)

Haven't done it myself yet, but probably will do it in about a months time and will also make myself an AUX port down there aswell

Hi,

The USB socket can be re-used providing you can solder a standard USB-A (or what ever connector your new head unit uses) onto the cable leading to the socket basically turning the USB in the dash into a USB extension it's only a 4 core cable with a socket on one end & a plug on the other.

Yeah you can do this (y)
But if your head unit already comes with a USB extender it would probably be a lot easier then soldering. Would mean you'd need to buy a male end as well.

Thanks for the replies guys.. I have thought about fitting it into the factory usb but the problem is I don't want to dismantle it just in case I want to sell the car one day with its factory head unit. I'v decided to just lead a phone usb out of my glove box and iv installed chromecast into the back of my head unit so I can have video from YouTube/ Netflix ect all on my car now. My next project is to make it work without a wifi router.. (Headache)
