Right due to the widespread radio phenomenon taking over the Bravo section thanks to BravoCity and bradgibbs,
There is a feature when selecting reverse for the camera,
Now does anybody know or have brought a good camera that is discreet and a good quality I know the 1St picture was mentioned but I seen the second picture too as it maybe not so obvious on the rear end.

Also does all the cameras need a power supply or would it run through a cable to the stereo headunit.

any ideas my Bravoteer's?????

Generally the power is taken from the reversing light. So that when the power is sent to the bulb, the camera fires into life.

You would also need an "AV" or image cable to connect direct from the camera to the head unit.

I'm fairly sure there are a few wireless kits available, but of course the price goes up (y)

Yeah wireless is what I thought but was thinking of picture quality?

Hey

Ive got the first image of the reverse camera you have posted. It comes with the following AV cable longer enough to run down the length of the car.

It will receive power from the reverse wire. And display on your headunit from the AV cable.

I haven't yet installed the Camera but I will probably have it above the number plate.

I reversed into a McDonalds bottle bank in my Signum because it was rammed with holiday gear. Cameras can be useful if you cannot see out of your rear view mirror.

FYI, I couldn't see it in either door mirror and it was only a little bottle bank, made a fair dent in my bumper though!

Well funnily you guys should say that,in my old bravo I went to pick the misses up when I first met her,was reversing at night could see the wall fine couldn't miss it,and then bang there was a small steel post in the center of all the spaces to stop cars hitting the wall I am assuming it was a bit away from the wall was devistated but luckily I part exed him in for new one.

There's always a slight chance of this same scenario happening again lol, they just peace of mind

Oh I see how it is. Both of you picking on me! Lmao.
I've personally never hit anything. And I can understand there's that with a full boot you will lack visibility. But how often does that happen honestly? I just think the cameras are ugly when you see them poking out beneath the bumpers etc. Was behind a Nissan quashkai or however you spell it. He looked like he'd glues a bloody webcam to the underside of his number plate housing lol

Cameras are utterly pointless IMO, far better with parking sensors. My Toyota has both camera and sensors and the camera is never used, only the sensors, you know why, because if you're looking at a camera screen you're not looking at everything else happening around the car (parallel parking for example, you need to be watching the front wing doesn't hit the car you're parking against).

Personally only use the sensors as you get an audible warning for the rear while you can be looking about elsewhere. My Toyota had the camera as standard but not the sensors, and I specifically bought one with sensors after the test drive when I realised the camera isn't all it seems.

Cameras are nothing more than a gimmick and something for passengers to be impressed with IMO.
