Read a few posts but found nothing useful, I'm looking to run a vacuum line for a boost gauge from the engine bay into the cabin, I've found where the wires from the engine bay go into the cabin behind the fusebox, but I'm wondering if anybody had a tips or could offer any help in how to get the line through, its so tight and fiddly, many thanks

I gave up in the end and ran a vacuum hose between the top of the bonnet and through the driverside door. Only a wee bit of pipe sticks out at the A pillar and not really noticeable.

Some people say there are blanks that can be drilled through, but looked like a nightmare and didn't fancy pulling the engine / interior out.

When i ran some wires, i used a flexible half meter long straight branch.
I taped my wires to the branch.
I first poked through with a screwdriver, then inserted the branch from the interior of the car, and pulled through to the engine bay.

Where abouts did you go through Aurick? I'm guessing your car is left hand drive?

Yes my car is left hand drive.
I poked my head under the steering wheel and saw a bunch of wires going through a grommet to the engine bay. I poked a hole with a screwdriver through that grommet, far enough not to damage the wires but close enough not to hit the metal edge of the firewall..

Not quite the same purpose but i had a similar issue a few weeks ago when fitting cruise control.

I found the rubber grommet, and after about an hour and a half of faffing with a screw driver trying to poke a hole, gave up, had a clarkson moment, got the longest thin drill bit i could find and drilled a hole in that rubber bit (so that it was still watertight) and wedged the bloody thing in.

Worked, however with pipe not sure you can apply the same force lol

I'd love to see some pics of where people have poked / drilled :)

TBH I was scared of hitting a wire so played safe. The way I have done it is completely water tight, but I do need to make sure the pipe 'sits' in the crease of the black plastic bit at the A pillar so I can still get pressure to the gauge.
