Hey there. Could you recommend a good boost gauge? Should be one to connect to the inlet manifold since I am using TMC (so ODB + Torque combo is not an option).

There were several topics on the subject but no direct links/brands. Any suggestions?
 
Thanks, a stupid question: it comes with everything, right? I mean not only the gauge, but the actual pressure measuring unit that you connect on the hose in the engine bay.

Also - is yours connected to the inlet manifold as to detect the real pressure (since my car is tuned)?
 
That one is mechanical (which would be the better option) so there is no sensing device inside the engine bay, just a tee in a hose. But that means you do have to get a vacuum/boost tube from the dash to the engine bay.
As for mounting it, i have given it a lot of thought and i would just buy a second hand A-pillar cover plastic and make a custom fiberglass coup for the gauge.
I will be interesting to see how you will mount it.

Electronic version is 15 usd more expensive than mechanical-mechanical doesnt have sensor, plastic hose goes from manifold to gauge.

I had some extra wires pulled from engine bay to dashboard, so i took electronic one

Turbo gauge works on any car, doesnt matter if its remap or not. Even works on non-turbo engine, but then will show only vacuum values from -0.8 to 0 bar

You are confusing an electronic gauge with a obd2 style app/gauge.They are different things.
If you have a tuning box that's fooling the ecu, then a OBD2 app would also give wrong info( as you know); But the electronic gauge would not be affected by that as it has it's own sensor.

The electronic gauge is basically a gauge that has wires coming from a pressure transducer( converts pressure to voltage) mounted on the manifold.
It differs from a mechanical gauge in speed ( it's slower than a mechanical one) and by the fact that mechanical gauges have a small tube going to the engine manifold instead of wires and a transducer.

I'm not confusing with ODB2 - I have one and I know it reads wrong :) I am only speaking about boost gauge that you connect directly to a hose in the engine bay. I now have enough information to buy one, will report when mounted :)
 
Well on remapped cars it certainly depends where you connect it, correct? My little research showed it should be connected to the inlet manifold, otherwise would not show correct data.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

You want to connect it as close to the engine block as possible so you can see the boost that is reaching the intake.
