Hi All,

I am having a nightmare with really bad brake squeal. I have had the disc's and pads replaced all round but it is still happening.

Excluding putting putting grease on the disc's and killing myself has anyone got any ideas how I can correct this nightmare.

Thanks for your help

From your description it would appear you have rear discs too. Is the handbrake acting on the caliper, or separate shoes inside the rear discs? If separate, these need to be looked at to ensure everything is moving as it should so not dragging, and no loose clips, cables, etc.

Other things to check are the dust shields, check they are not cracked and vibrating.
Have you replaced crap pads with new crap pads?
Try to determine whether squeal is front or back, then concentrate efforts at that end.

mines exactly the same...ive got new discs andpads at back, and new padsat front, with copper grease on shims etc.
the squeal stopped for awhile after changing front pads but soon returned.
They only squeal when brakes are very lighly applied and stop under more pressure.
Now i turn the stereo up :)

Mine sounds as a train is pulling into the station. I just don't worry about it anymore.
It's because of the amount of metals and other ecological products inside of the brake pads..
You could try to replace the pads again..
