Hi all, after awhile of reading posts in this forum, I decided it's about time I joined it and made my post :D

Unfortunately I don't own a Bravo yet (n) as I'm only 18 and still have to get my license (the legal age to acquire ones license in sunny South Africa is only 18). But luckily over the past few months I stumbled across the wonderful Fiat Bravo and found out it's a 1.4 Turbo (T-jet version obviously :D), so hopefully I'll be able to get one.

Okay so over to the technical question I want to ask. Finding 18" 4x100 alloys let alone any sized 4x98 alloys in South Africa is extremely difficult. So from my very brief understanding of how the wheels connect to car, I came up with an idea to replicate the wheel hubs, but instead create them with a 5x100 or 5x112 pattern which I'll be able to find more appropriate alloys for. I'm currently studying Mechanical Engineering and have access to a Lathe and a Milling machine. So I would like to know your guys' advice on the difficulty with such a project and whether I'm missing out any clear factors or shooting in the wrong direction for what to modify to fit 5x100 wheels, thanks :)

Actually sadly not, the South African Rand is extremely weak. So importing a proper set of 4x100s will almost cost me around 3 times more that local 5x100s that I can find. I spoke to a friend today and he suggest that I get wheel spacers made for around R300 (£17) each that change the bolt pattern to a 5x100. I was rather skeptical about how that could work, but is it possible?

if you have some friends with Alfa Romeo 159 and Guilietta it might be interesting to get them alongside each other on ramps:idea:

With some detective work I think we would find interchangable bits, would be nice to get some Brembos...

Hahahaha I'm only a First Year University Student so none of my friends will have money for a Guilietta :D however my one friend does have an Alfa and I think it might be a 159, but I'll have to ask him.

Brembos sound like a really really good idea, but I don't have money for such now either :D I first want to do a remap and a decat, then I'll do the rims and tires and after that I can consider some Brembos. I also have minor interior mods that I'd like to do in the mean time between the bigger mods. My friends think I'm crazy for already planning all these things for a car I don't own yet, but I couldn't help the excitement. Hopefully I'll get one ASAP and get to show it off to my friends.
