Leather shrinks as it dries out! I sorted a similar crease problem out on a steering wheel by the following method :-

Thoroughly soak the leather for about 100mm each side of the crease and also the crease with water , manipulate the crease out of the leather by gently twisting and pulling the leather away from the crease in both directions, hopefully successfully! Begin drying the leather by wrapping in kithen towels and squeezing, repeat as necessary, allow remainder of dampness to evaporate naturally or use gentle heat from e.g. a hairdryer.
Hope this helps,

Al.

Worth a try. Thank you :)

Worth a try. Thank you :)

This was my solution:

Fresh new leather around the stearing wheel, and it looks and feels fantastic!!

The leather steering wheel on my newly purchased T-Jet is peeling and needs attention.

Royal Steering Wheels have quoted £110 plus postage to recover in Nappa Leather, with perforated sides like the picture above. I'll be getting it done in the next few months. link below:

Around 180 pounds. But the leather is so much higher in quality than the original. The grip and feeling are great!

What company did you get this from? The leather on my stearing wheel is pretty creased too

try and heat it up with a hair dryer and push it out like a vinyl, mite work but only an idea that's free :)

Two questions if you don't mind:-
1) The stitching looks more involved than on the standard wheel, is it still
comfortable?
2) Is that left foot rest standard or available as an accessory?

Thanks, Al.

1. Yes, it is still comfortable, but indeed more involved. I love it, because it accentuate the stitching even more. There is a bit more relief, but that's ok for me.

2. It is standard on my car. But as a accessory, I know you can order them here: http://www.autoaccessori.nl/fiat/originele-accessoires/fiat-bravo.html?limit=30

Not sure if that foot rest would fit in a right hand drive car? If it was cheaper I'd take a risk on it!

It's definitely not available. There wasn't enough room to fit it in when the dashboard was rotated for right hand drive. I also believe the placement of the pollen filter stopped any chance of having a foot rest as it would be in the way to remove it.

or for a little extra money you could get an abarth 500 steering wheel, seen one on here the other day, looks mint :slayer:

Mine is rhd also, I think the price is for the set of pedals? Might be able to make/adapt something from another car?
