I currently own a 1.4 Punto GP 105 (Multiair) Looking to upgrade a bit to something with a little more power.

I've seen a Multiair 1.4 140 Sport 2011 on-line. Unfortunately there are no facelift Bravos that close to me, so would have to travel to view/test

So I've a couple of questions:

1) Anyone driven both the Punto GP and the Bravo have any comments, will it feel better.

2) This Bravo has 18" wheels on it, will this effect the ride too much?

3) Has the Blue & Me system improved? can I stream audio via Bluetooth?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

I owned a 1.2 Grande Punto! the bravo just feels far more superior in quality and comfort. And obviously power if you go for the better engine that you quoted. It's much bigger obviously so take that into account if you park in small spaces a lot etc. but that's all common sense.

The blue and me on 2011 plate cars won't have Bluetooth streaming but the USB will take iPod leads without an adapter. Older models need the adapter.

The 18's are a harsher ride. More expensive tyres too. however. They are sexy as a Jessica alba/scarlet Johansson experimental session. Being the sport model also you will have lower suspension so avoid potholes at all costs. But over all it is a big step up from a Grande.

could not agree more with Matthew.Bravo is in its own class compared to GP and I would own-choose a Bravo over GP any day.

Thanks!

I made a bit of an error in my original post. I have a Punto Evo its GP spec not a Grande Punto.

Thank you for highlighting the lowered suspension, I don't think I can deal with that, due to being in a slightly rural location. So Sport if off the list.

I would need to find a

2010+ 1.4 Multiair 140bhp
Dynamic Spec
Parking sensors.

Sunroof would be great.

Trouble is I don't think Fiat sold that many non diesels after the face lift?

I think the original before the facelift is prettier. Regarding Evo...well don't get me wrong but it is still just a GP with a facelift. No offense.

If you drive a lot...take the diesel as it sounds much better than the tjet and it pulls like a rocket. But do not push any of them hard while they are cold as it is not good for the turbo_Once the engine temperature reaches the middle on the dash...you are good to go ;)

Have to disagree with you there. The T-jet is a much better sound. Mine has a lovely roar to it.

mine too..but compared to a multijet doing his humm which is lower and to me it sounds better. It is like comparing a kitten to a cougar.Especially when it starts pulling from low rpm on the multijet and when you can feel the torque it is producing :) just love it.

A diesel will never sound as good as a petrol. Don't get me wrong, my 1.6 JTDM sounds ok, but even the 769cc lump in our Classic Panda wins when it comes to sound :p

!Lame Question Alert!

How are the door bins? can you put a decent size bottle in them?

My Punto is a little lacking on the storage front, glove box is tiny (it won't really hold the manual)

you have to buy Golf for that...the glove box is OK for the rest you have space under armrest

Door bins are not suitable for drinks IMO, but get dynamic spec and you'll have a large central bottle / can cooler (or warmer in the winter) in the centre console under the arm rest :)

Not true I'm afraid. The adapter is only needed to play iTunes music with DRM. If there is no DRM oir you ripped stuff to your iPod yourself you don't need the adapter. All music from iTunes from the past few years is DRM free.

I have a 2007 model Bravo updated to the latest Blue and me software and it doesn't even recognise the phone without the adapter.

Wrong. You DO need an adapter for a I device, regardless of the format of the files, on B&M systems before a certain age.

Unless, potentially, you add the music to it as an external HDD, but then you won't be able to play the music through the iPod when not using it through B&M.

Funny then when I picked mine up first thing I did was connect my ipod to it and it worked fine (apart from the music with DRM at the time)

So, perhaps I am not so wrong eh?
