Hi how do you remove handbrake gaitor ,mines needs tightened

hi, i downloaded the elearn guide, its really helpful, like a haynes manual, ive got replace my hand brake gaitor tomorrow, its worn, £13.99 for a new one off ebay.

What do you mean by tightened? You do know the front of the gaitor has velcro and can be adjusted by that, failing that remove the chrome surround below the gaitor , it just pops off with a little bit of leverage but use your hands its easy enough to pop off after that slide it over the gear stick, you have a black surround that the gaitor is on, again just tease it out and over the gear stick, turn it upside down and you will see its elasticated and specifically cut to fit in the mount holes.
If its loose you can adjust from there, if its split and cant be adjusted then theres a guy on eBay - topgaitors who sells them for £8.50.

Hope this helps pal (y)

Hi thanks but it's not the gear stick gaitor it's the plastic on the handbrake ,I need to tighten the handbrake up and I take it I do it under there but I can't get the plastic off

As I said mate once the chrome pops off it's just the same with the black plastic trim, loosen the gaiter get your hands inside and around the black trim and just gently pry it off, its around 8 clips holding it in, two top and same for sides and bottom, just ease it off bit by bit.
I'll had mine off earlier this week and it literally takes a few minutes, If your still struggling I'll try do a video and post it for you to see
