Hi guys,

2 quick questions about the floor mats and footwell.

1. Where the mats sit, there is fixings for the mats? - it appears on mine, the top part to hold the mats in place have been taken off, and there's just a nipple pointing up? - can the fixings be replaced?

2. What are the grey plastic covers for near the mats? They slide forward towards the footwell, but doesn't seem to be anything visible inside it?

Driver's side floor mat is held in position with two plastic fittings which "screw" into the fitted carpet and have a twist section on top which locates in the holes in the mat and turn 90 degrees.
Sounds like the top of yours has broken off. Replacements come in slightly differing sizes for different cars and are available on fleabay although I haven't seen any specifically for Fiat on there.
I bought a couple of Ford ones which although slightly smaller do the job. There are, however, easy to break "screwing" into the carpet - be warned.

The car mats I purchased off eBay came with the screws and locking clip. Just screw them into the fitted holes in the floor. Matt goes in. Twist and lock the clips into place. Although I dislike my car mats as the material is crap and they look cheap, they fit like a glove in all four foot wells (passenger side front and rear, drivers side front and rear).

Definitely advisable to get fitted matts with the clips for the drivers side. As universal ones tend to slide. And I've had them slide up and catch the accelerator pedal and the clutch before. Which is a nuisance whilst driving.

The original accessory mats with the Bravo sign do not have the clicks :( One of these small things you just have to curse Italian automakers for (similar issue with the kickplates).

But you can easily fix them with some velcro from eBay (y)
