Having done 25,000 miles a year for 3 years in a 1996 1.1l, 55 BHP Punto, I would imagine a 1.4 would present no trouble at all. Sure, the commute is much more relaxed with a 1.8l, 130 BHP engine at my disposal, but the little engine could do it.

Before anyone asks why a Punto owner is lurking in the Bravo forum, it's because I'm considering a Bravo next.

We welcome anyone to any forum. I'm often in the grande Punto boards as I used to have one. But now that you have said it. You have to get a Bravo (y)

I bought the tmc chip online from tmc in London. The chip made a big difference on the freeway. Gave it a lot more go at higher rpms. Didn't have to change gears nearly as often.
