Hey guys.
I have now had my Bravo 1.4 T-jet 120 for 3 years and i really love the car.
But i think it is time for me to make it faster..

Initially my idea was to exchange the turbo with the one the 150 has and then do a remap.
But where i live - i have found out that if i do that, it will be a "identity swap" so i will have to pay a lot of tax to do so.
So now instead i want to look into another Turbo and maybe some other adjustments so i can skip that tax and still make it faster :D

So... what advices do you have on turbo instead?
And what else can/should be changed in that regard?

I want it to atleast get to around 180 BHP, but preferably around the 200 mark.

I do realise there probably is quite a difference in the parts involved to be changed between getting 180 and 200...

Could you help me with maybe 2 scenarios so i can understand the costs between those two?

1. where i get to around 180 BHP
2. Where its around the 200 BHP

And lets say i start by maybe changing turbo and remapping and get around 180 - would i then still be able to later change other parts to get it to 200 while still keeping the new turbo i have purchased?

Thanks for reading all of this. Hope you can help me. It will be very much appreciated!

Best regards,
A happy Bravo Owner :D

I have a bravo multiair turbo and also love it to bits :p
Ive just made some small tweeks to mine, air filter, dump valve, de cat + performance back box and remap

I've not put it on a rolling road or anything but I definitely noticed the change especially after the exhaust mods.

This is possible do a search for Abarth Bravo conversion in the forum

You should try just an air induction kit and a proper remap. I hear great things from people that have done it. Some even claim getting just short of 160 BHP. faster than the standard t-jet 150. I can't imagine the need for much more than that power wise. But if you want it then you may want to think about more than just power enforcements. Breaks, suspension, tyres all need to be thought about with that sort of power.

Sorry to burst some bubbles but the 120 T-Jet isn't capable of anything near that.

The turbo runs out of puff at around the 145 BHP mark. You can do air mods, exhaust mods, a larger FMIC etc etc, but the turbo just can't feed enough air.

A good thing to remember is MANY 120 T-Jets roll over 130 BHP standard so this is worth noting. My T-Jet wheel spins quite regular so I am wary of tuning mine too much at the minute.

For more power you are going to want to combine a turbo with an air filter, cat-back exhaust (sports cat optional?) and a good front mount intercooler. It should see an easy 180bhp then.

If you are happy with a car, in tune with a car, know it run's well, you have looked after it for 3 years... Why would you sell that car, to then buy exactly the same model just with more power, which may have unknown issues and faults? Nevermind the hassle involved with car sale and purchase..

I think I'd rather swap a turbo if I was happy with the car overall..?

I totally agree RobBravo.. i have taken care of this car, its MY car :D i dont want to sell it just to get a bigger engine.. a turbo swap is really not that hard... :))))))

Thanks for all the answers! Greatly appreciated.

I will look into it! :D

Where did you get the back box

Robbravo is correct that the 120 t-jet rolls out 130+HP (a well respected dutch tuner, known for not-exagerating, averages them standard at 133HP). Calling them 120HP is just for marketing purposes (would you rather pay the extra for 30HP or actually only 17HP?).

So do not expect too much from converting it to a standard 150, a good remap will already bring you slightly above that; a remapped 150 will ofcourse even slightly more. In the basics, they have equal turbo's, just a slightly different turbine configuration (and different camshafts)

Just checked on the tuners data, they now state 130hp for standard, 141 with a remap, biggest problemen being the tame cams (so i was wrong thinking a remap would bring you above 150)
A 150hp t-jet with remap does 172...

First take care of your intake/exhaust (also meaning cams) before a bigger turbo. Bigger turbo gives extra top-end at the cost of slower spooling, better flow gives (a bit less) extra top-end but also faster spooling (to make best use of a bigger turbo, you need tot tackle this anyway)
