Hi
Looking for some assistance on an external light issue
2007 1.4 bravo

The offside brake light blew. I changed it which caused the front offside sidelight to blow. Then the nearside brake light blew, I changed and again the front nearside sidelight blew.

Then I noticed that the brake lights are very dim and the rear lights only come on for a few seconds then turn off.

I have changed the 2 front sidelights and they still do not work.

Any tips on where to look. No light or electrical issues prior to this. Old it be fuse related?

For a light bulb to blow as soon as you install it, only two causes are possible:

1) The alternator is charging at a higher voltage, enough to cause more current than the bulb can hold, usually more than 17-18V.
2) A ground from a different system is gone, and now that other system (which must share the same 12V circuit as the lights) grounds through the light bulb, thereby increasing the current flowing through the bulbs, which now act as a fuse. This is a very rare scenario, but still possible under certain circumstances.

Got there in the end.

Take out all 3 rear bulbs, reinsert in sequence of right, left middle, No idea why, suspect t was acting as a Duse as mentioned above.
As with all my Italian motoring experiences......monza engine, Mario wiring.
