Recently purchased a 2010 Mjet with dualogic.
After having it a couple of weeks the transmission warning light flashed together with the message displayed " transmission fault check handbook".
Car went back to supplying Fiat dealer who after a week in the workshop diagnosed a faulty brake pedal switch. I wonder how many switches there are on the brake pedal as the brakes lights worked ok and I needed to push the pedal to start the engine albeit after the 7 second start delay with the fault.
Any thoughts please.
Thanks for a great forum

I doubt the Dualogic would be any different to other models, so just one switch. It talks to the computer, which decides to
1) Put the brake lights on
2) Cut the engine power if brake and accelerator pedals are depressed together
3) Allow the starter to operate on dualogics?

Thanks for the reply.
The dealer now says the car would start without the pedal being pressed and the brake lights were permanently on despite previously being told different. It seems the fault was possibly intermittent.
All is now okay but very disappointing that it took a week to sort out. I wonder how much time was actually spent on the car.
Would be interesting to see the warranty claim.

I wish mine was only a week, 6 and counting so far

Sounds like just a defective switch, which isn't surprising considering how cheap they are and just how mass produced they are.

Sounds like all is sorted now though :)
