Hey guys,
I have a hefty bit of damage on the rear wheel arch, the narrowest point between the wheel and the back passenger door. Fortunately the damage immediately stops before the door, a bit of luck I suppose.

Two local garages have quoted £220 and £250 for a repair. But a friend said he wouldn't repair it, and that a new panel would be cheapers to buy and he'll respray.

Has anyone any idea where to buy, what to look for, and what kind of price a body panel would be?

It looks an awfully big job to replace the body panel, as it spans from front to rear, at the top and skit of the car.
Any thoughts?

Not sure what the capabilities for a smart repair are. Here's the damage:

So we're saying its a no to 1/4 panels and Smart repair?
For those wondering, thats the imprint from an idiot driving Land Rover Defender with a metal square shaped bumper, looks like. Think thats bad, you should see the alloys...

Sorry for being a wee bit thick. If you were hit by someone else why are you worrying about how best and cheapest way of fixing it. Surely their insurance would be responsible for fixing it? or at least paying for it.
