Was thinking of changing the drop links on the bravo will this tighten up the steering as it feels a bit loose ,also what other benefits will I gain in changing drop links ?
Thanks guys

Droplinks are part of the anti roll bar, nothing to do with the steering. Have you been advised to change them on an MOT?

No I haven't been advised to change for the mot , but figured it might help in tightening the front end up ?

When you say knock noise is it when steering or when you go vet speed bumps ?

over bumps only generally.. droplinks are just straight bit of metal with a ball-joint at either end, one end on the roll bar, other on the shock absorber. When my drop links were buggered on my old stilo it never made any noise on smooth roads but go down a bumpy road and it was quite obvious the knock...

Do you have a knock then?

Thanks blu Yes it knocks a lot on bumpy roads , I also need to change passenger spring as its snapped , would you recommend me changing the drop links ? I've seen them for sale on shop4psrts for around £16 ,
Also would you recommend me updating the springs with a 25mm drop by apex or eibach ?

I think a broken spring has got be your first worry! Forget your drop links, get the springs sorted and go from there.

who said anything about a broken spring... although that has happened to me before too, 1 coil snapped off and was jingling around in the strut (amazing it never fell out)..

Well hard to advise without being certain what is knocking, and most suspension parts look visually ok until they are completely fubar'd. To check them properly you need to apply quite alot of force, levering with a crowbar or similar to check for play in all the ball joints.. Do this with the car jacked up, and properly stable on axle stands - wheels off..

As you say your steering feels loose i'm inclined to suspect the track-rod ends without seeing it - if you wiggle the steering when the car is stationary can you hear this knock - albeit probably not as pronounced.

There is some argument however, if you want lowered spring to just changing the drop links and the track rod ends and spring all at the same time - after which proper wheel alignment. Or is that just because you don't like the current feel of the steering??

edit: worth noting that all these parts should be changed in pairs i.e. both sides of the car. And wheel alignment after track-rod ends or springs. Should be ok without for just droplinks.

Thanks blue ur great help, I think I'm just going to change the drop links and track rod ends for wat it's worth , is it best to go for standard spring coils or apex , eibach ?
