Hi guys
Hopfuly someone can shed some light on my issues.
So three or so weeks ago i bought my Bravo 1.9 mjet 150 with a blown turbo. New turbo was fitted, brakes sorted and Mot passed.
I have now been driving round for the last two weeks and have about 900 miles under my belt with the new car. So it looks like my new turbo is fine and everything looks good.
But i do have a few issues.
First one.
I have notice poor running at the low revs. If i'm knocing around town in second and at about 1200 revs, when i put my foot down the engine judders and dosent feel like it has any power. It gets better at 1500 rpm but the jutter is still there and then at 2000 rpm the turbo kicks in and i have loads of power
So what could cause this and what controls the fueling at low revs?
It is worse when cold but still does it after a good drive. Feels like lots of turbo lag etc.
The only issues at the moent is my glow pugs need changing (doing it this weekend) but i sure this should not cause this.
Second one.
What MPG should i expect?
When going to and from work (15 miles each way, 50% town 50% 50mph roads) i have been getting about 39 - 41 MPG which i dont mind.
But i went to a show at the weekend near coventry (60 miles each way - nottingham - M1 - M69 - A46 and back) i reset the counter on both trips and both times i only got 40 - 41 MPG and this is on a good run, keeping to 70mph in 6th gear (about 2000 rpm) and using cruise control.
Is this normal or should i be getting more? The reason i ask is in my old 52 plate 1.9 DCI Renault laguna estate i use to get about 41-43 MPG to work and when i go and see my dad in Rugby i get 48-52 MPG
Surly my newer, smaller, more eco car should be better on longer runs than my old tank?
Also could cruise control cause this?
Hope you can help as other wise i love the new car.
Many thanks
Michael
