Hi my gearbox has lost it's springiness that helps you find the middle of neutral. It is hard to find gears especially when you change down, any ideas what this can be and how much it will cost to fix

Mine did this when water got into the gear linkage cables, they basically they rust and give you problems like this.

My old Punto also did this and it was just a spring broken off that pulls the gear stick to the middle, was a 5 minute fix.

Not saying this is the problem but it could be.

Yeah my bravo is like that. Got used to it pretty quickly, will get it looked at come service time.

I had the same problem with the wife's car. The garage stripped out the gear linkage, cleaned and regreased it all and now it's like new.
