Noticed coming home today that there is quite a loud knocking sound that increases with engine speed, much more noticeable when moving than sat still, as well as white smoke when accelerating reasonably hard past 2.5k revs but it still boost and pulls the same as normal?

Coolant level staying put :confused:
 
Let the car idle for a while and check if smoke comes out again, if it does, let it idle even longer and check if coolant level falls. when it goes below minimum, top it up, stop the engine and start making phone calls to book your car for repairs.
 
You say it knocks louder when driving - is this when you're giving the engine a little bit of throttle at a particular rev-range, or will it still knock if you coast in neutral.
