Was reverse parking last night and there was a bang then the clutch pedal dropped to the floor. My car has been recovered and should be at my Garage today.

In the mean time anyone got any idea's what it might be? It was almost as if the clutch cable had snapped but I know the bravo doesn't have one and its all hydraulic now. Possibly the cylinder given up?

The dreaded white clip?

Another possibility is a broken clutch cover plate assembly. This is when the diaphram pressure plate spring brakes.

If, an I hope not for your sake, that this is the case then I'm afraid it is new clutch time.

If your Bravo has an internal concentric clutch slave cylinder then you shoud have this replaced as well. Same goes if your car has a dual mass flywheel. From FIAT both these parts are expensive! Slave will be £100+ and DMF £500+.

Right, I've heard back from them.

It was the slave cylinder that gave in. This is what happens when you leave a heavy clutch to get worse, something will eventually give in.

They gonna take it apart and replace the cylinder which is part of the complete clutch kit (so getting a new clutch too) They will inspect the dual mass fly wheel while they are at it and advise its state.

If you have a clutch problem on a dual logic you'd be in so much more trouble :D

Not to mention the probable wait for parts to arrive from italy...

Parts I'll give you, but no more troublesome if the clutch goes on my Dualogic to if a clutch goes on a manual - thats the common misconception with them :)

John what mileage has yours done?

i had that clip go on me, had to keep popping it back on. fixed it with some cable ties!!

how would you know if it was heavy? mines quite heavy i think, but then the only other car ive driven is a brand new focus and a ford ka.
