Question Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

The white clip which connects to the master cylinder rod has broken and come off the clutch pedal. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do. Because i have been looking everywhere for little white clip, any info please.

not on the Bravo, but the 147 suffered from something similar. I bet they share the same part/ fix. searching for this on Alfa 147 forums might be helpful for a quick fix

Re: Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

I have had a look at the alfa 147, Its a different set up but thanks for help. Ive been looking everywhere still cant find the clips. FIAT DEALER say i have to buy the master cylinder rod. but not 100% that the clip will be on there. Its just a simple clip i need.

Re: Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

According to the Fiat parts catalogue, some Bravos have the 2 part plastic clip as in the diagram below. Part #5 is a rectangular plastic clip and part #6 is a plastic cup that fits inside the clip. The part numbers for parts 5 and 6 are the same as for the Stilo and are available seperately from a dealer.

There's a long thread about it in Stilo section of the forum here: https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/1449...nk-squeak.html

There's a photograph of the clip and cup in post #68 of that thread.

Here are some pictures of the white clip which dosen't look broken on the picture. The other picture the clip goes into the black plastic thing then connects to the ball joint.

Re: Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

Yours is obviously not the same as the diagram I posted above.

The diagram below shows the alternative Bravo set up. Doesn't show the white clip seperately though. Perhaps the dealer is right and it's only available with the master cylinder.

The other diagram below is from the eLEARN workshop manual. Doesn't say anything about a removable clip.

Does your white clip fit in the black plastic part securely?

Re: Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

Yes the white clip fits securely in the plastic thing but when i then put it onto the ball joint the white clip is loose and worn. Ive tried all ways to put the clip back on but it won't hold I need a new clip. Everything else is working fine on the clutch. I have also asked a random owner if i can look at there car 1.9 mulitjet exactly the same white clip, Heres a picture of what it looks like working properly.[ATTACH]Click image for larger version

Tkaye, did you also notice the fluid? It looks to be dripping out of your master cylinder in this picture. You can see it pooled up around the bottom of the rubber boot.

I do not like that setup at all. If it was made from good quality components I think it would be up to the task, but all that looks really cheap.

A propper rose joint like this with a bolt going through would have been better.

Re: Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

It looks like its leaking but it is actually grease. There is no liquid below. yea i agree with you it would of been alot better with a bolt going through. I was thinking of doing somthing myself bodge job but Im going to see if i can find the clips form the breakers yards first. If i can't then ill just have to give it to fiat and pay up. just for a little clip.

Re: Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

The trouble with getting the clip from a breakers yard is that its likely you'll break it getting it off the donor car TBH, it looks like one of those things that is fitted once, then replaced with a new one if necessary.

I wonder if you could do something with a strong cable tie to stop it popping off?

Have you managed to sort this problem out, mine went last week and have been popping it back on, has become a daily occurrence now so have held it in place with hair bobbles temporarily, could do with a part number or repair costs, someone had put on another thread that the dealership sorted it for 50
