Technical Has anybodys clutch pedal white clip broken.

Yep just happened to me on the M61, quoted £160 to replace the master cylinder with Gen Fiat part as they can't get hold of a non-Gen part !!!!!

Diy it, cylinder is £45 from shop4parts & has a modified white clip

Greetings from down under, well it's been a long time since I've had a problem or need to post but you wouldn't read about it, oh wait I just did ...

This happened to me today while going through a round-a-bout.

One moment, all is well... then, suddenly, my clutch pedal vanished from under my foot.

After realising the problem, I can not believe someone thought that this was a 'good design choice'.

just randomly clicked on this thread and funnily enough mine done this the other day as I was getting in my car I caught my foot on the clutch pedal and bang off it came, scared the bejebers out of me until I realised what had come off, i just popped it back on, didn't even think to look at the clip and see if it was broken!

Hi. So anybody have a guide on where to buy the clip and replace it until now? Really doesn't make sense buying the entire master cylinder just for the plastic clip!

If somebodies got a whole one, my place of work may soon have the ability to scan and print 3D objects - i've no idea if they'd be robust enough for actual use however.

Hy all is there any news on this subject as i noticed my clip is broken but it have been put back together and cabletied up.

Wow! Now I know what's happening.

My clip recently broke on my 2004 Scudo Combi. But I can't seem to get the cable ties to hold it.

Can somebody send a picture of how they did it? And how did you get the hair bobbles to hold it?

Without this one tiny piece, my car is almost useless!

Happy driving,
Keith

ahhh seems like i'm not alone usefull thread , Just had this same issue on my 2008 fiat bravo, has anyone found success with a more permanent fix seems like this plastic clip will wear away again over time when replaced.

Many Thanks, Tom

Happened to my Bravo 1.4 TJet today. I cant believe that there is no replacement part for this. What a waste of time and resource to have to replace the complete master cylinder.
Dangerous if this occurs in the wrong place at the wrong time. ie on a motorway when its pissing down with rain.
Should never have been designed in this way.
I might get a few 3D printed after measuring and modelling in SolidWorks.
Keep a few in the glovebox. :bang:

Possible to share the drawing files?
Would love to print some on my on.

Not sure the file would be of any use. The real acid test is the clip itself. But if you check with the moderator of this good Fiat forum he might allow me to provide one of these clips to you from the small batch I have ordered for myself. In order to cover my cost of making, I could provide one to you for visual assessment purpose only at £4.85 + postage(1st class + jiffybag).

But please check with the Forum owner first.

Tomo

Hi Tomo

Sounds like a very helpful solution. Well done and thank you!

The problem has just happened to my 2007 Bravo which has 60k miles.

The clip is not broken as such, but is damaged.

Would I be able to buy your part, please, just to have a good look at it? ;)

Please let me know, as it seems otherwise this thread doesn't provide a suitable conclusion, helpful though it is, of course!

I am relatively new to the forum :)

Ok, so I bought the new clutch master cylinder from Shop4Parts & removed the clip from that. It only cost £41.21:

Clutch Master Cylinder (Fiat Part Number: 55242901)
Make & Model: Fiat Bravo (2007>) 1.4 TB (120/150 Bhp)
£34.34 1 £34.34
Subtotal (Ex VAT) £34.34
Shipping & Handling (Ex VAT) £0.00
VAT £6.87
Grand Total (Inc VAT) £41.21

Type 55242901 into the search box in Shop4parts.co.uk website to get the page with the clutch master cylinder. I'm not authorised yet to put the URL in my post!

I had to de-modify the clip, as it's been modified to make it sit tighter in the black arm (that's also been modified accordingly), by cutting the extra new lugs off it. It's actually best to change the whole part - ie the master cylinder too - as it definitely looks like it's more effective a design now.

I didn't have time, at the time, as I needed to get the car going asap before Xmas.

I hope this helps anyone with a similar problem in the future.

Good luck!
Alex

This exact same thing happened to me today on my fiat bravo 1.9 multijet 2009 model! The white clip has snapped off and the Breakdown came couldn’t repair it! Is there any solution for replacing the clip! I don’t want to pay for a new master cylinder!!

Garage quotes from £280 to replace master cylinder they said they can’t hold of parts they tried everywhere so they have to get original part from fiat which is ££160 plus labour! I don’t understand just for a clip?
