Hi All

Just bought my first ever Fiat and I must say that the styling is amazing and the performance.

My bravo is a Sport 1.9 Mjet with 54k on the clock.

I have been viewing these threads for a while now and all I seem to see is pure negativity and bad things about the bravo being mentioned. What good can be said about these cars?

Mine is very quick, quiet and looks awesome. I have seen lots of posts about remaps, realistically what is a remap like for economy as I do shedloads of miles a week, I'm tempted to get one done but dont want to shell out stacks on fuel any views please?

diesels are best cars for a remap

Due to how they are built (ie to withstand huge pressure)
They can easily have the power factor ramped up by 30bhp - depending on the injectors / engine size

You can have them tuned to give more power
or to give a mix of both a little power increase + little economy
or just ramp up the economy with no power increase

Oh right, didn't realise you could just do a economy remap. That would be cool, its already quite good better than my tddi focus when I drive it carefully, which I have not done a lot of yet.

My luck with cars is legendary and people could write books about my heaps that I have bought before and I hope this will change with this car. How reliable are the bravos generally?

I bought my 150 Mjet in May and have covered nearly 7k already in it and can't fault it at all. Lovely to drive and excellent level of trim, good on fuel too, usually return around 54mpg - and i'm still standard.
This is now my second Fiat i've owned, had a 2001 Brava JTD before and was really impressed with it and i'm even more impressed with the Bravo.

I used to drive VW's and was getting put off by the build quality going downhill and the fact that everyone thinks that VW are the best things to buy. Truth is if I wanted a similar spec Golf with same power, trim and mileage I would be coughing up another £2k or more.
In my younger years Fiats (Uno's Pandas etc) used to be real rust buckets and VW's were the solid reliable cars. It seems to have gone the other way now, I really love my Bravo, especially as they are not an everyday sight like the sea of Golf's, Focuses etc.

Thanks guys for the reassurances, I love my bravo and also love the fact it is not usually seen and can easily keep up with and outrun those pesky vag units. I would like to remap but what should you look out for before getting one done? Or after?

You'll also be happy to know there are only 771 out there on the road and with the 165 sport now the main model there shouldnt be any more :)
