How long should they last? My bravo a year old and my wipers are streaky. Tried vinegar and some window cleaner still streaky.

look at them are they visibly damaged or split?

have you cleaned the windscreen and the blades? its amazing how much black crap comes of the blades when you give them a good wipe.

Depending on brand, usage and weather a year is about right for most cheaper wiper blades

2.5 years for the stock wiper blades and thats up here in Scotland where we had some pretty harsh weather in 2010. I picked up new ones in Lidl of all places that are good quality and were 12 quid for the pair.

What, do people wait for them to fail or something

They're a serviceable consumable and should ideally be changed annually regardless.

Mine had not failed they were starting to show signs of wear.

Wiper blades are not yearly serviceable items, that's just madness.

So whats showing signs of wear? Were they working as they should? If not then they've fail as they're not doing their job.

They are indeed a product thats recomended to be replaced annually. They help you see the road in poor conditions, and are just as important as brakes and tires when the conditions prevail, so changing them annually to make sure they're in top tip condition is not madness.

They're only a few ££

Each to their own though,

I've had my '07 since she was 18 months old (May '09), so no idea if the wipers were changed prior to that, but the OS front wiper was changed 6 months ago (blade started to split away), the rear needs changing (more smear than wipe) and the NS front is the one I bought the car with fitted and it still works fine.

Change wiper blades annually?!?! That's like saying change tyres/brake discs/brake pads/light bulbs annually. If it ain't broke.....

mine are stuffed a year after replacing

they have a hard life, frozen to the screen in winter and stuck to screen by bugs heat and tree sap in summer

an autumn change is pretty normal tbh

shop4parts have champion brand at half price at present(y)

edit. just ordered a pair together with an austin powers esque air freshener and some hand wipes for about £20 delivered to my office, so a 5 minute job for me one lunchtime this week
