Tuning The Badass Bravo

Tuning The Badass Bravo

I was stopped 3 times in the same year in my work van by VOSA. On the third time, I actually told the person "this is f***ing ridiculous!" :p

No idea what the outcome would be of having illegal parts or emissions though.

i think you are alright as far as 'illegal mods' are concerned in the UK as long as it MOT compliant

the lack of cat and emmissions is the conecern will do some digging

edit

lack of cat is an mot fail and roadside emission test fail will cancell your mot so will need to get it rectified and retested

I need to know whether the Garrett MGT14 fits on with the cars original turbo manifold or whether it has a completely different fitment?

Is it just going to be easier to put the VL36 on?

I'll give them a wee bell tomorrow.

Another question, does the Forge Intercooler for the Punto T-jet fit the Bravo?

Phoned a couple of turbo places including BTN, and none of them knew the answer to my question, they all just said "it should do".
So now I guess its just gotta be a case of hoping for the best. The Garrett turbo is very easily sourced but everyone is out of stock of the IHI one.

Have done more research on the web, and it seems that the Garrett does require a different manifold and I would also need to change the injectors!!

So... now hoping that I can get a VL36. The benefits of the VL36 is that it's much cheaper and I won't even need to remap the car, but I still will obviously :p Downside is, it's not as good!

Will keep you posted.

EDIT:

Found this picture comparing VL37 and VL36 turbo's. Can clearly see the 36's inlet is much wider.
