Question Sports Cat

Gonna be jiggling around around with my exhaust system again soon to try and achieve more of the right sound I want from the car.
Thinking about replacing the standard catalytic convertor with a sports cat with a higher flow rate and was just wondering if this is likely to trigger engine warning lights?
Last time I was at the exhaust place I go to the guy said a decat would possibly cause stuff like that, but would a sports cat?

Something like this;
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/380337135775?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var= sbar&adtype=pla

EDIT: Come to think of it, the cat might actually be in the downpipe... anyone know?

yes it is a mani-cat so part of the manifold

sports cat wont trigger warning lights, it is as effective but flows more freely
check out the abarth forums to see what is available

Re: Sports Cat

supersprint have always over priced their cats, i wouldn't bother with a sports cat unless you are fitting a better manifold, you will need a lambda hole before and after the new cat

Re: Sports Cat

I thought that price of over £1000 was for the full system! Who in their right mind would pay that much money just for one section of their exhaust!?

another sweeping statement from you

perhaps the people with enough disposable income have worked hard for their success, ever considered that?

it feels too much for me, hence my post but if you paid full retail for a new car perhaps it is not
