personally i went for a box instead of a remap cost £400 but its something that you can easily remove and adjust depending on how you drive it for instance more power / slightly less power but more mpg etc

Hi Shadeyman, i read the above post with great interest and i'm considering one myself. How did you get on with the tuning box long term and why did you decide to get a re-map in the end? Whats your comparisons of tuning box vs re-map. Many thanks
Got a Chip Express tuning box for sale on classified from my previous Alfa MiTo. For a small fee I believe Chip Express will re-programme to suit any car.
Had this plugged into my MiTo 1.6JTDm which I believe is the Fiat 1.6 Multijet. It made a huge difference on power and also improved mpg by 3 - 5. It also improves top speed by about 6 - 10 mph depending on tail wind.
The only reason I haven't had it re-programmed and plugged into my Bravo is because the insurance company want £250! That would put my premium at just shy of £1000 - a price I'm not willing to pay.
the reason i went for the box i did and the reason it was £400 is because it doesnt just up the fuel pressure like most boxes which put more stress on your fuel pump it actually controls the air/fuel mixture by controlling the turbo boost pressure as well.
it plugs into the fuel rail and into the boost system.
this gives a much better response over the entire rev range giving more torque upto about 2500 rpm
its currently running 206bhp and just shy of 346 ft/lbs of torque and does past its limited speed of 130 mph now aswell
