Hi all,
I've got a a '58 Bravo 1.9 120 M-Jet that I bought last summer. A couple of weeks ago I started getting the dreaded check engine message when starting.
I took it for a diagnostic and they said it's the EGR valve reporting the error. They reset it, but pretty soon the same day, the error came back.
I've got a few questions if anyone can help me with:
Loads of questions I know, but very grateful for any help anyone can give.

I've got a few questions if anyone can help me with:
- I first got the error when there wasn't much fuel in the tank, could this have caused it, or is it just due to carbon build up over the years?
- Do I need to replace the EGR valve, or is it worth giving it a clean first?
- If it's worth giving a clean, how easy is it to do? I'm reasonably technically minded. But must admit, not a complete car expert.
- I've been £230 inc. parts and labour to replace it, does that sound reasonable?
Loads of questions I know, but very grateful for any help anyone can give.
