When you say it only has 90bhp, are you saying that there used to be more power and recently it lost it?

How old is your Bravo?

Re: Bravo 1.9 8v multijet with 90bhp

Hi,its always been 90bhp.Its just that you get the same engine with 120bhp straight from the factory.I was sure most of them were 120bhp...?

Anyway my aim is to get it to 150-160bhp but i cant do that with just a 'chip tuning box'.But my guess was that with an ecu from a 120bhp bravo and a chip tuning box i could reach around 150-160bhp...but i dont know....??

Anybody that does know??

Definitely not. I have the old 8v 1.9 and it's 120bhp.
Well, WAS 120bhp before my DTUK box.

Still curious why you didn't just get a bigger model, you will end up spending a lot more in upgrading and insurance etc than just buying a bog standard one. Like the difference between the 120 and the 150, the turbo maybe different, if thats the case, gonna be costly.

Re: Bravo 1.9 8v multijet with 90bhp

Well reason for not buying a more powerful one is that,i live in Norway and everything is a bit back to front hear. The more horse power your car has the more you pay for it.The bravo i have cost 18000 pounds and its almost 2 years old!!So its more difficult to get the more powerful ones, havent seen a 120bhp bravo forsale here yet, just a couple of 105bhp 1.6mjtd...It was a 1.6 i was after but discovered a little while after buying it that it was a 1.9,and the dealership are not being helpful at all!!So decided to try and make it a bit more fun to drive...

Re: Bravo 1.9 8v multijet with 90bhp

A little consolation is that your car's real power is more than 100bhp, so you can easily reach 120bhp with a remap.

The 120 is around 135bhp standard and the 150 is more like 165bhp.

Re: Bravo 1.9 8v multijet with 90bhp

i have the 90bhp 1.4 16V and am one zillion% sure that its more than 90bhp no dyno around here to check but me car feels and acts like more than 90 !! i did 200 km/h with my car and made a lot of races with bigger engines like 1.6, 1.8 even 2.0 and easily won on twisty roads !!

or am magically getting the max of the car some how !! or i have one mad loco 90bhp bravo!!

I think the base 90 1.4 is torquey enough to feel like more. For such a small lump it pulls pretty well from low revs, gives up around 3000rpm then comes alive at 4500 again.

Also Tad, how much power does a stock 165 have then?

I'd say add 15 and you have the real bhp of the car. Can't say for sure for the new 2.0l, all I know is that the old 1.9l multijets are very underrated officially. (lies for tax and coČ emissions whatnot)

The funny thing is that they claim my car is 120 in standard form but under the engine it clearly says 1.9l Diesel 136cv (hp in english).
