My mate has the T150 version and wants to de-cat it..

I remember being advised not to on my 120 because of the lambda sensors being removed would cause engine fault codes etc and wasn't worth the hassle. He's pretty adamant he wants to do it despite the emissions etc so has anyone had any experience with this and could give warnings/advise? (y)

Yeah definitely go for the high flow sports cat. It shouldn't trigger any errors and if you ever get VOSA'd at the roadside they should be happy enough to see something where the cat should be.

what does the lamda sensor have to do with the catalyzer?

Because it measures the co2 in the output so removing the cat means that the reading will increase and may cause the ECU to alter the way the engine combusts?

I think I am right in saying there is 2 sensors, one before and 1 after the cat?

yep, there is one sensor pre and one post cat. removing the cat will mean post sensor will have the incorrect readings, thus buggering up the cars performance to the point it probably wouldnt be driveable. removing the sensors will cause a warning light and the car to use a map that will have a baseline setting for the co2
