Hi

My front washer jets have gone, just in time for winter.

Anyone know where the pump's located and where I can buy a new one?

Cheers

can you still hear the pump? if so, check the piping for a leak or break.

if you cant hear the pump, check the fuse for it, not sure if anything else is on the same fuse though.

i lost the rear screenwash jet last winter, and it was a blown pipe. only found it when car was in a dry, warm underground car park and it made a puddle under it

Hi

Can't hear anything so guessing fuse or pump.

Looked somehwre online about fuses though and thought it said front and rear washer were on same fuse and rear still working. Will double check though.

Cheers, did try and find a thread before posting but failed, obviously lacking in search skills.

Mine's not in warranty any more, bought it second hand just as it ran out in October.

Has the water frozen on one of the recent cold nights? If you dont run a decent frost resistant antifreeze it can freeze the pump then you get up in the morning try and wash the screen the impella on the pump is stuck by ice and it pops the fuse.....

but if the back is working and the front is not.. i would suggest it could be the switch in the stalk

get a mate to activate the switch and see if you can feel/ hear the pump trying to work (could have got a bit of muck in and the pump will work fine in "reverse" and wash the rear screen but jam up when it goes "forward

As an emergency fix you could always swap the hoses over on the pump so the rear wash function shoves water to the front screen to keep you on the road

It went a month ago so don't think it's frost, not sure we've had any yet in London.

Ah, so you're saying it's a single pump that does front and rear? I was assuming it had two pumps.

Hi Terry, have you found out what the problem was? I picked up my car last week, and it too suffers the same problem.
I assumed it had run out of fluid, but the back one works. If its on the same motor and fuse, I'm at a loss as to the fault.

btw, my warranty also ran out Oct 2011.

Last time ours went in for a MOT they suspected the pump was on the way out. It's been OK since but it's not what it used to be although perfectly usable.

I would doubt the pump would be included past the two year mark warranty wise.

Not got around to it yet. Living in central london I don't drive much and have a 3 week old baby whihc is taking all my time. Have found a dealer nearby but can't find the time to call them, let alone visit. Would rather fix myself if can though.

Just reviving this quickly before I take the plunge and go to dealer to get fixed.

Can anyone categorically say this isn't a fuse issue? Does the fact that rear still works (assuming it's a single, both ways pump) mean it's not a fusse problem.

Where can I find the fuse layout for Bravo?

Thanks

If you'd rather fix this yourself then stop being lazy and check the fuse yourself. you just pop it out and see if the wiring inside is intact. check your user manual to know which fuse to look at.

You'll also find a little plastic tool in your user manual to help you pull the fuse.

5 minutes job.

I'm keen to check myself, moved house recently though and my user manual has ended up in a box in the cellar hence turning to here for information about the fuse.

Sure I can get fuse out without the tool but not sure what fuse I'm looking for. Guess could just check them all though.

The pump doesn't rotate in one direction so don't think it's blockage.

Took it to Fiat dealer anyway as have no time to look myself. They said it's the indicator stalk (which the eLearn pretty much said for this problem) and want £350 to change it.

Seems kind of expensive but 1) I've never really had to pay for a car to be repaired at all so don't know and 2) not sure what other choice I have when I've got about 1500 miles to cover for Christmas over the course of the next 10 days.

If thats the right stalk, an hours labour ought to be enough to fit it.

Disconnect battery.
Remove airbag. Unfortunately this will leave 2 small holes in your steering wheel boss - see the dimples each side. This is the tricky bit.
Remove the steering wheel.
Remove the steering column covers.
Swap the control assemblies.
Reassemble!

I did see that but think old Bravo. I believe new Bravo comes as the whole ensemble of levers and surround.

Think I'm going to have to grin and bear cost. With a 3 week old baby finding time to have a shower is hard enough, let alone take my steering column apart.

Not ideal when I've had it about 3 months and done about 350 miles.

Reviving an old thread :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to get just that little front windscreen nozzle? Not the whole washer jet that pops into the bonnet but only the little screw with 3 little holes in it that you set the spraying angle with?
Mine fell out while washing the car and all the local scrapyards don't have a stilo :(
