ESP/ABS/Hillhold unavailable - Check owners manual. Owners manual tells me to go to the dealership. Dont see why.

I've had these lights before, just before my battery died. The car has just been sitting on the drive for a week and it struggled to start with slightly fading lights. A battery recharge done the trick the last time, however this time I have taken it for a 15 mile blast and the lights are still on, they did dissapear for 5 seconds at one point though.

The reason im posting and not following advice used with the search function is, I've just changed a rear caliper and both rear discs/pads so I am wondering if this could have anything to do with it. Also could it happen if brake fluid is too low?

Any advice appreciated!

drive it a mile or 2 and it will all disappear mate
and make sure the levels good

usually go away after 4 starts btw

not sure but it could be something to do with the recent calliper changes, possibly just a loose plug or something, entire system is linked so thats just a guess, as said it could also be voltage related, a lot of the new 500s with that god awful stop start thing suffer from the same fault it would seem

thats cause the start stop system is **** it only works in certain conditions

there are no wires for the rear brake set up at all unless he has some how managed to brake the rear abs sensor

ive had this issue before and once starting it 4x while driving i.e drive a lil stop start it again drive a lil more it turned itself off and worked correctly again

That'll be the 3 clear runs = reset system :)

Mine did this a few months back turned out to be a faulty brake pedal switch.

You should be able to tell by seeing if your brake lights are on when the pedal is not pressed.

Quick fix, under warranty.

Hah! If only i were under warranty! Ok so some stuff to try here, where is the rear ABS sensor?
Mysteriously every time i run the car, the fault clears for a few seconds (it seems to be on a bend) and then re-appears, it then wont go off again.

Also anyone have a ballmark figure from a dealership to invest the system? I would ask them but they will try pulling my leg.

Mine did that as well, you should check its not the switch first.

mine needed a new brake sensor switch but then mine got alot more complex and ended up been faulty wiring behind the glove box and i needed a new MAF..

I dont think this will be the case with yours as i had engine light as well after a few more drives.

They 100% will not be working lol.. I tried mine and put my foot down and i couldnt get any power down due to Traction control not working

You have a 165? With the exception of 1st I would be hard pushed to get mine to loose traction under hard acceleration.

Tried to locate the switch myself, no luck. Brake lights are not on with just engine running. Theres a bit of the play in the brake pedal but it doesnt appear to be broke in any way. MOT tomorrow.... Car appears to drive normally (in the dry)

Topped up the fluid level, checked for leaks, checked the fuses. Still keeps clearing for a few seconds a couple of minutes into the drive, then reappears 5 seconds later. Baffled.

Need to find out where the ABS sensor is (although would this knock ESP/Hill holder off too?)

I would disconnect the battery for half an hour but I have never had to do that before, worried about coding issues and how to actually disconnect it properly (ie all the wires on top?)

hmm wrll that wasnt touched. im guessing it works the same way as on aircraft where it detects stationary wheel and acts. it should be protected. although there was this little stick poking out above the hub ehich i assumed was a wear indicator of some sort
